Fund Raising Collaborative (FRC)

The FRC is a group of dedicated community and parent volunteers (called FRC Liaisons) who represent their school sites within the Carlsbad Unified School District (CUSD). Operating under the umbrella of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation, the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization working in collaboration with CUSD, the FRC addresses the educational needs of CUSD students by researching and applying for grants as additional sources of funding to support learning opportunities at the school site they represent. In general, upon joining the FRC, Liaisons have no previous grant-writing experience, which is not required to participate in the FRC.

When you join the FRC and become a Liaison for your school site, you will receive the following benefits at no cost:

Meet and collaborate with other parents and community members within CUSD
Receive a formal orientation to the FRC
Learn about exciting student and grant opportunities through monthly meetings and electronic updates
Learn about grant and grant-writing resources
Receive tips on and ideas for successful grant proposals from other FRC Liaisons
Work mostly in the comfort of your own home
Receive funding for your school site with a successful grant proposal

Additionally, as an FRC Liaison, you will receive these intangible benefits:

Improve writing skills
Help create and implement educational programs that may continue for many years
Make a large impact on education locally (at your school site) and globally (within CUSD)
Receive the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference on the education of many students

As state budget cuts to education continues to be an issue, grant writing as an alternative and additional means to raise funds for student needs is even more critical.
