Enrichment Class Descriptions

Amazing Artists

Come join us for an afternoon of creating some amazing art and learning about awesome artists! Each week we will learn about a famous artist, and throughout that class we will study their style of art.  We will then use it to create some masterpieces of our own based on their style. Think Andy Warhol-pop art, Piet Mondrian 3D abstract art, Georgia O-Keefe canvas flowers, Fauve Self Portraits and more!

Baseball & Softball

Develop baseball or softball skills with Coach Kurtis Swanberg at Allstar Baseball & Softball and his pro staff. Quickly develop higher skills with a focus on correct techniques in hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunning, catching, fly balls, live game knowledge, and much more. Coach Kurtis has been developing his program and coaching in San Diego for over 30 years!

Drawing, Painting, & Sculpting

Draw, paint, and mold characters, animals, and scenery that come to life! Learn to use shapes to guide your drawings, how to add dimension to your paintings, and create fun critters with clay.

Engineering w/ LEGO- Mandalorian

Master The Way of the Mandalorian in this Star Wars inspired LEGO® Engineering experience. Venture through the galaxy in your custom gauntlet fighter to rescue Baby Yoda, build grappling hooks to pull ourselves to safety or rescue an ally from the treacherous Sarlacc Pit.

Fun with Science & Crafts

Join us for a fun, interactive, and hands-on class full of fun science experiments and colorful crafts.

Join us for this new class introducing the game of European Handball! Learn the rules of this fast paced, high scoring, non-contact sport that combines the elements of soccer, hockey, water polo and basketball.  Learn techniques to battle your opponents, and get your body moving after school!

Intellectual Athletes

All sessions feature an intentional engagement activity to get children to connect with one another and the coach, followed by play that escalates in challenge, with the aim of showing children the value of self-regulation approaches to calm their minds and renew play with improved focus. A free play component follows, where children can take the lead in creating new rules to keep the fun going. We end each session with a (non-religious) meditation, focused on the awareness of breath and the present moment, designed to help children feel a sense of calm and renewed focus as they leave the session

Junior Mavericks Running Club

Join Junior Mavericks to develop a love for running! Learn proper technique through drills, games, and more.

Kids Broadcasting Academy

Morning Enrichment Class

Join Fox 5 News Anchor, Andrew Luria, on Monday mornings for a weekly broadcasting class, focusing on teaching the skills of storytelling, dynamic speaking, videography, editing, reporting, producing, and interviewing. They will learn all the pieces that go into creating stories and practice those concepts.

Robot Coder

Dive into the world of robotics to build, code, and/or drive their very own robots! No prior coding experience is necessary for this adventure. However, campers coming with previous coding experience will be given the opportunity to complete a more advanced set of labs.

Soccer +

GOOOAAAAL! Build your soccer skills with Coach T through games, drills, and FUN. Work on passing, dribbling, kicking, and teamwork. We will mix it up throughout the session with soccer and other field games.

Short Film Making

Join us for an introduction to the world of filmmaking. Create your own commercials, mystery, DIY, superhero, or detective short films. After, students will edit, produce and finalize their creative works of art.

Strategic Chess

Strategic Chess uses a story-based curriculum which will get children excited about the amazing game of chess. All levels are welcome. Each class will have a 30 minute lesson followed by 30 minutes of playing. Chess teaches many life skills including sportsmanship, patience, strategic thinking, planning ahead, and working towards a goal. The class will end with a fun tournament where students have the opportunity to win prizes!
