Enrichment Class Descriptions

All-Star Baseball

Develop baseball or softball skills with Coach Kurtis Swanburg and his staff. Quickly develop higher skills with a focus on correct techniques in hitting, throwing, fielding base-running, catching fly balls, live game knowledge, and much more. Coach Kurtis has been developing athletes for over 30 years. Helmets, bats, and gloves are available, use of personal equipment is encouraged.

Amazing Artists

Come join us for an afternoon of creating some amazing art and learning about awesome artists! Each week we will learn about a famous artist, and throughout that class, we will study their style of art. We will then use it to create some masterpieces of our own based on their style. 

Ballet

Students will explore and develop the proper fundamental ballet techniques. Students will learn how to develop good posture, flexibility, and coordination.

Basketball Plus

Dribble, pass, score! Work on the FUNdamentals of basketball with Coach T. Focus on improving your skills through drills, games, and teamwork. Parents are invited on the last day of class to play a game. 

Broadway Kids

Break A Leg!  his class introduces students to the world of theatrical stage acting. Students will learn about the acting techniques needed to perform on stage and the fundamental building blocks for creating characters. Students will explore how to perform monologues, Improv skits, and dance routines. 

Cartooning

Follow along as we draw and create cartoons step-by-step. Use your imagination and storytelling skills to bring life to characters, animals, sea creatures, and fun geometric shapes.

Character Matters – Play Production

Character Matters is a fun and easy musical play that teaches students how to act and treat others with respect and fairness. The play features fairy tale characters from Rapunzel to Goldilocks and uses catchy melodies, funny humor, and interesting stories to engage students.

Flag Fun

Elevate your heart rate in this active class! Play classic games like flag football and capture the flag. Practice and improve hand-eye coordination, sprinting form, and teamwork with new games, like flagtag, and steal the tail.

Running

Join Junior Mavericks to develop a love for running! Learn proper technique through drills, games, and more. 

Kickball Plus

Coach T. teaches the basics of throwing, kicking, and catching. Develop offensive and defensive skills through interactive drills and games. Practice fielding, base running, and coordination in this classic playground game. 

Mickey’s Fairytale Adventure using LEGO®

Venture into the world of Minecraft in our unique LEGO® experience. Get ready to build your base, craft your tools, use your Minecart to harvest raw resources, and battle to stop the Ender Dragon from ending the world. Come explore the endless possibilities of LEGO® with a trained Play-Well instructor.

Photography

Does your student show an interest in taking pictures? Join Ms. Dudley to learn the fundamentals of photography. Become versed in basic functions of camera operation, proper picture-taking techniques, and editing essentials. Students will create amazing photo projects where they will document their memories and experiences; all well being creative and having fun. 

Strategic Chess

Strategic Chess uses a story-based curriculum that broadens students’ minds! All levels are welcome as we will tailor to the skill levels of the students in the class and have over 10 lessons from the rules of the game to strategies and tactics. In each class, children receive a 30-minute lesson followed by 30 minutes of chess playing time! Chess teaches many life skills including sportsmanship, patience, strategic thinking, planning, and working towards a goal. The class will end with a fun tournament where students can win trophies and prizes!

Sports w/ Mr. Stu

The class will be held after school on campus with free play and organized sports such as soccer, basketball, football, European handball, and Gaga. Children will be taught the importance of compassion, empathy, friendship, compromise, fair play, leadership, sacrifice, & mentorship.

Young Chefs

Calling all Young Chefs. In this hands-on class, students will create delicious snacks.

Zumba Kids

 Let’s get our bodies moving! In this fun, creative, and upbeat class, students will learn Latin and hip-hop-style dances.
