Physical Education (PE) 1
Course Description: PE 1 is a required course for all 9th graders and provides the opportunity to learn and apply core concepts of Health Science and Physical Education. This course develops the knowledge and ability for students to attain and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle. There is a strong emphasis on individual fitness, exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, and anatomy/physiology. The course prepares students to pass the state-mandated physical fitness test in the spring and satisfy the state Health Science requirements.
Virtual PE 1 Schedule: Our virtual class takes place exclusively online. Students learn via a combination of digital instructional videos, asynchronous online assignments, and independent physical activity.
May 19 – August 8: Weekly physical activtiy tracked and logged.
June 9 – July 18: Health education coursework with online asynchronous instruction, activities, and assignments.
