On Tuesday, Oct. 15, the Carlsbad Educational Foundation hosted its first Stakeholder Social at New Village Arts in Carlsbad Village.
The event celebrated the Foundation’s community partners, previous event sponsors, and major donors who contributed to the Foundation’s milestone achievement of awarding $1.5 million in grants to the Carlsbad Unified School District for the 2024-25 school year. In addition, the Foundation also announced the winners of its newly launched Teacher Grant Program. Every secondary teacher in the CUSD can apply for individual grant money to improve class instruction. This year, the Foundation awarded an additional $50,000 to 11 teachers.
Laura Pitts, CEO of the Carlsbad Educational Foundation and Dr. Ben Churchill, Carlsbad Schools Unified District Superintendent, thanked everyone for their invaluable contributions. Their words set the tone for a night of connection and celebration.
In addition to the Foundation’s financial supporters, the evening brought together the Foundation’s board and alumni board of directors, local dignitaries, and community members who similarly share a passion for supporting education in our community.
