Dog Days of Music Are Over in Carlsbad Unified School District

The Math Department White Board Project at Sage Creek High School aims to increase student engagement through visible learning strategies. This grant funded the purchase of additional whiteboards in all math classrooms, providing more space for students to actively participate in lessons and visually demonstrate their understanding of mathematical concepts.

This aligns with the district’s instructional focus on Universal Design for Learning, which encourages multiple means of engagement, expression, and representation in the classroom. By installing multiple whiteboards, students will be able to work in teams, standing up and using the boards to display their work.

The added whiteboards also helps teachers to assess student progress in real-time, enabling them to provide immediate feedback and support where needed. As students visibly showcase their learning on the boards, teachers can quickly identify misconceptions and intervene with targeted instruction, making lessons more effective and personalized.

The project will impact all students at Sage Creek High School, as every student is required to take math courses. By fostering collaboration and active participation, the White Board Project will elevate student learning outcomes and make math instruction more dynamic and accessible to all.

Thank you!!!! The Math Team is going to be thrilled.
