Strategic Plan
Carlsbad Educational Foundation’s board of directors and staff completed a four-phase strategic plan process with the intention of providing a clear vision for the organization over the next three years.
The plan was completed in December 2020, and outlines four priorities.
Priority 1
Priority 2
Priority 3
Priority 4
Priority One
Maintain a Sustainable Business Model with Continued Revenue Growth
Carlsbad Educational Foundation seeks continuous revenue improvements year over year from contributed, charitable, and earned income revenue sources. This includes expanding donation opportunities, enrichment activities, and childcare services, as well as seeking meaningful ways to connect our business and community partners with educational programs that prepare students for a career in Carlsbad’s leading industries.
Priority Two
Foster Strong Relationships
Carlsbad Educational Foundation will adapt to meet evolving needs of Carlsbad Unified School District. We will continue to align the Foundation as a community convener that unifies each of the 14 CUSD school sites and connects Carlsbad’s expanding economies to public education. We will help position the city as a diverse and thriving place to raise a family where it is known that Carlsbad’s public schools are at the foundation of the great community.
Priority Three
Invest in Talent & Leadership
Carlsbad Educational Foundation will retain and increase public confidence in its leadership by recruiting and retaining an influential board of directors that reflects the Carlsbad school community. We will develop a workplace culture that invests in the professional development of its employees and attracts high-performing applicants. We also strive to engage our community with our mission and will increase volunteer opportunities or connect community members with mission-based initiatives.
Priority Four
Invest in Programs that Provide Access to All Students
Carlsbad Educational Foundation provides enriching educational opportunities for every student in Carlsbad Unified School District. We will continue to mitigate barriers to programs, assess the quality of our programs, and eliminate redundancy in educational opportunities to best serve the needs of students, staff, and businesses in our community.
